BCB-100G: Bleeding Control Basics Course
BCB-100G is the Eight Point Solutions Bleeding Control Basics Course, a 4-hour online course for employees, managers, hospitality and front desk staff, teachers, event volunteers, parents, and community members who may be nearby when someone is severely injured. Delivered self-paced on the EPS Portal from Lanham, Maryland, it teaches the knowledge used to recognize life-threatening bleeding, call 911, find the wound, and select direct pressure, wound packing, or a commercial limb tourniquet within your training. It explains reassessment, tourniquet timing, second-tourniquet decisions, shock recognition, warmth, the MIST handoff, kit readiness, and immediate exposure response. Content reflects the Hartford Consensus approach to public bleeding control and current first aid principles; OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 is explained for covered occupational exposures. Tuition is $25.00 and is not refundable. The official BCB-100G Course Syllabus, Version 1.0 is included in Module 1. Five modules cover the helper and the bleed; recognizing and stopping the bleed; where bleeds happen; the scene, shock, and the handoff; and the kit, the workplace, and the record. Completion requires all five modules, every 30-item module quiz passed at 80 percent or higher with unlimited attempts, the 50-item final examination passed at 90 percent or higher within two attempts, and the 10-item course sign-off. The EPS Bleeding Control Basics Certification is serial-numbered, recorded in the EPS registry, verifiable through the EPS Portal, and valid for two years; renewal requires the current course at its published tuition. It documents assessed knowledge and course completion, not hands-on competency. It is not a license of any kind, a first aid or CPR card, or a medical qualification, and it does not authorize force, detention, search, or entry into an unsafe scene. First aid requires consent where the person can give it and must remain within your actual training. The course does not replace dispatcher instructions, employer procedures, or an emergency action plan. BCB-100G is governed by EPS-DIR-001 and its Course Syllabus, Version 1.0, and provides the foundation for HCC-100G. Samuel Romanzo, Training Director. Kawika Rogers, Managing Partner.
